Studio Mnemonic
Design to change, shape and improve brands and organisations.

Studio Mnemonic is an independent design practice which through a genuine holistic approach, strategic thinking and carefully crafted design, work with businesses and organisations to develop their visual identity or communication platform – using design and design concepts to tell stories or simplify complex information. We create contemporary brand identities, communication design, information design, data visualisations, packaging solutions, brochures, books and reports for a diverse range of businesses and organisations, across a wide area of sectors in Sweden and internationally.

Studio Mnemonic also offer art direction, photography, film/video, animation and digital solutions, and build bespoke teams to meet the needs of each individual brief and client.

Studio Mnemonic approach each project with passion, curiosity and confidentiality and applying detail, skill and craftsmanship to every stage of the process. The method is driven by the clients’ aspirations and business objectives, and delivers powerful, engaging and long-lasting design solutions.

Philosophy
Pronounced with a silent m, a Mnemonic is a pattern of letters, ideas, or associations – written or visual – that assists us in remembering something. The word in antiquity were most often used in the context of what is today known as the ‘Art of Memory’

Process
Research | Strategy | Brief. Every project starts with research. The approach and depth of the research depends on where you as a client are in your process and what kind of business or organisation you are running. One way is to compose a workshop where we discuss and ask questions necessary to unearth the challenges and desired outcomes. This is important to have in place when we move forward so we know that we are building the work on the correct foundation.

Concepts. Once we have a defined brief and agreed strategy this information will be translated into visual stories and concepts, communicating the organisation/business values and service/product. This can very rarely manifest itself only through a logo, front cover or one product, but need to be accompanied by a wider visual language. The concept should also have flex so it can stretch beyond visual applications and grow further with time.

Implementation. Once the visual brand concept is ready it is implemented on the mediums that best communicate with your audience. We will build a toolbox with colours, typeface and if suitable photography, illustration, film, video and animations. We can also create templates for social media, presentations and material for events and exhibitions.

A guideline or brand book will also be developed so others involved can understand how to use your identity in a correct way. We can organise workshops and events to inform, launch and create attention to your new brand.
